Centennial College´s Culinary Skills program is well-rounded and takes just one year to complete. This college certificate program emphasizes the foundation of culinary skills while sourcing local food products from around Ontario and learning the art of seasonal cooking.
You will learn to prepare exquisite menus and dishes inspired by global food trends and flavours from industry-leading chef faculty. These dedicated instructors will provide you with the learning experience you need to succeed by helping you to understand that a career in the culinary field is fueled by passion and rewarded through skill development.
You will receive hands-on training to master culinary fundamentals, ingredients, food preparation and all of the other skills needed to enter this exciting industry. This training takes place in culinary labs, including Centennial College´s cafe, restaurant and event centre to ensure you hone your skills before entering the workplace.
Upon successful program completion, you will obtain important industry certifications such as Smart Serve, Safe Food Handlers and CPR, which will increase your employability.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
